I'm Brandon Casey, PT, DPT, GCS — a practicing physical therapist, father, and clinician who understands what it's actually like to prepare for the Geriatric Clinical Specialist exam while balancing real life.
For the past 6 years, I've worked full-time in inpatient rehabilitation treating medically complex older adults while also helping mentor new clinicians, clinical students, and interdisciplinary teams. Like many people pursuing their GCS, I wasn't studying in a quiet library with unlimited free time. Most nights, studying happened after work, after responsibilities at home, and after long days caring for patients.
While preparing for the exam, I found a gap between traditional study resources and what busy clinicians actually needed. Many programs felt like sitting through another long lecture after already spending all day in the hospital. The information was valuable, but it often wasn't built for efficient studying, clinical application, or mental endurance.
That's why I created GCSprep.
GCSprep was designed to help busy clinicians study smarter with realistic, clinically relevant practice questions that mirror the thought process, decision-making, and fatigue of the actual exam. The focus is on high-yield learning, clinical reasoning, and efficient preparation — not wasting hours reviewing content you'll never use.
Every question bank, endurance exam, study guide, and cheat sheet was built from the perspective of someone who recently went through the process while actively working in patient care. My goal is simple: create the resource I wish I had when I was studying for the GCS exam.
